19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden championship for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid period, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with former coach his previous coach.

Currently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.

It is Medvedev's initial trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from March of 2023.

Success also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my two daughters together, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, including in the German tournament in the past months.

Medvedev's retrieving approach and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had prompted commentators to question if his skill to perform at the top level was concluded.

However the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, supported by an improved service.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky opponent, winning 4 of the last five games to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour championship, gained dominance to push for a decider.

Moutet rescued four early-game opportunities in a tight deciding set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner earned the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
